I am saddened to learn about the passing of Aunt Darlene. It is such a shock as we recently spent an afternoon together at her son's home (Roger). She was always so vibrant and outgoing, never changing. Our deepest sympathies go out to her husband, Tom, and cousins Roger and Kevin, and all the family. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of her. Sincerely and with love, Carol Ann and Jim Kelley

Dearest Tom, Children, and Grandchildren of Precious Darlene,

Our family was extremely blessed to have had the gift of Darlene in our lives. As an answer to prayer, we heard through a mutual friend that this amazing servant of the Lord helped elderly patients, who could no longer live alone and needed in-home assistance. It says a lot about Darlene that, in her retirement years, she desired to continue to help those in need. We could not have asked for a more caring, compassionate, and truly “fruit-filled” woman to have become one of our father’s caregivers, during his four year convalescence period. Whenever she was near, Darlene’s ever present smiling face encouraged Dad, our family, and her fellow caregivers. The attached photo shows us with Dad, Darlene, (displaying that big beautiful smile), and most of “Doc’s Dolls,” (an affectionate nickname for the caregivers.)

For four years, Darlene faithfully cared for Dad and was even the last one to see him on the night that he passed away. Her ever peaceful, shining spirit would have been like a foretaste of Heaven for our father, which he would soon be encountering. When they eventually reunited, after Darlene entered her own heavenly reward, Dad surely thanked her for the many sacrificial, gracious acts of kindness. We now thank each of you for the gift that you were to Darlene, that helped her to always be smiling. May God encourage you with His own incomparable, compassionate, caring, and loving ways.

In appreciation and With our Deepest Sympathies,
Angie Huey and Elyse Murphy
(Dr. Ron Markwood’s Daughters)

Dear Darlene...she was a good friend to me. Many things we did together in the past and had fun doing all of them! Our trip to the National CMA Women's conference in Nashville, Tennessee will always be a fond memory. We were deaconess together for many years at CMA Church. Darlene was a true servant. She dearly loved her church family at CMA and it was very apparent. Many times she and Tom hosted the Easter early morning service with breakfast afterwards. It was so beautiful at their home outside with the sun coming up and the ponds surrounding their home that God so graciously gave to them. God has gained a true gem and she is now rejoicing with her Savior! We will all be together again with Christ Jesus our Savior if we trust and believe in Him. Tom and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
