Obituary for Eldon Sherwood Zinn
Eldon Sherwood Zinn, 75, of Clearville, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2011, from home with his family at his side.
He was born August 10, 1935 in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Junior Lawrence Zinn and Manonia (Coleman) Zinn.
On March 22, 1957 in Washington, DC, he married Arlene (Jay) Zinn, his wife of 54 years, who survives along with their children,

Marsha A. Stufft, of Everett
Tim Zinn, and wife Carrie (Kelly) Zinn, of Clearville
Melissa “Missy” Shaw, and husband Robert Shaw, of Clearville
Barry Zinn, and wife Melissa (Kinser) Zinn, of Everett
11 grandchildren, Adam Zinn and wife Amanda, Crystal Zinn, Ashley Zinn, Zach Zinn, Derek Zinn, Jadin Zinn, Myranda Zinn, Kayla Zinn, Elizabeth Zinn, Marissa Zinn, and Jared Browning.
2 great grandsons, Matthew and Aiden; a brother, Kenneth Zinn, and wife Linda, of Johnstown,
and his former daughter in law, Mollee (Valentine) Browning, and husband Ed Browning, of Flintstone.
He was preceded in passing away by an infant son, a son Jeffery A. Zinn, an infant twin brother Edson Ellwood Zinn, 3 sisters, June Hollick, Lorraine Cook, and Janet Miller, and 2 brothers Bernard Zinn and Dale Zinn.
Mr. Zinn was a member of the Bethel Christian Church in Purcell and attended the Rock Hill Christian Church.
From 1960 to 1964, Eldon was employed with the United States Department of the Interior as a Landscape Foreman, and then for over 25 years was employed with Robert L. Elder & Sons, Inc., constructing and maintaining golf courses, including Greencastle Greens in Greencastle.
He was an avid deer hunter who also enjoyed watching western movies and RFD TV, a channel devoted to rural issues, concerns, and interests. After retiring, he especially enjoyed spending time with his wife Arlene working in their flower and vegetable gardens, spending time together with their children and grandchildren, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Fran Scott officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday at from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
Burial will be held at Pine Grove Christian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Eldon to the funeral home.
