Obituary for Allegra F. Morral (Furry)

Allegra F. Morral (Furry)
Allegra F. Morral, 90, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1st, 2018 from home, with her family at her side.

She was born Wednesday, November 23rd, 1927 at her family home in New Enterprise, a daughter of the late Arthur T. Furry and Mary “Prudence” (Detwiler) Furry.

On June 5th, 1949 at the Everett Church of the Brethren, she married Eugene Morral, who survives along with their children,

Jerry A. Morral and wife Gwendolyn (Widman) Morral of Breezewood,
Prudy M. Wilt and husband David K. Wilt of Everett,
C. Loren Morral, and wife Vicki (Mowery) Morral of Hollidaysburg,
Byron E. Morral and wife Tammy L. (Detwiler) Morral of New Enterprise,

17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Audrey M. (Layton) Morral of Everett, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in passing away by and infant brother Clifford Byron Furry, a sister Eleanor Ruth Ammerman and her husband Dr. E. Gifford Ammerman, and a brother-in-law Roy Morral.

Mrs. Morral was a lifelong and devoted member of the Everett Church of the Brethren where she previously served as a Stewardship Chairperson and was a lifetime appointed member of the Faith and Order Fellowship, now known as the Spiritual Life Team.

She was active with many church activities and events including her membership with the women’s fellowship, was a Kindergarten Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, was an original member of the Koinonia Hand Bell Choir, also playing piano for Sunday services and the Little Shepherds’ Choir, later becoming director of the Little Shepherds’ Choir.

A graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1945, Allegra was also a graduate of West Penn Hospital School of Nursing and first worked as a private duty nurse at D.R. Sipes Hospital in Everett for two years.

After her marriage to Eugene, she was a “stay at home" Mom, raising her family first, and then when her children were well on there way, she began working with her husband at Morral Brothers in Everett, where she took care of daily secretarial duties and was company secretary after the company's incorporation, having always served on the company board.

Always active in many community events, Allegra was a member and past president of the Everett Elementary School PTA and the Everett Area High School Band Parents, and also volunteered her nursing services to the Everett Happy Senior Citizens and the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.

Along with her husband Eugene, they ran the sound equipment for the local blue grass band, the Juniata River Boys, as well as being hired to run sound equipment for many blue grass festivals.

With a wealth of knowledge, the gift of giving, and her faith in the Lord, you could always look to Allegra for an answer. Loved and cherished by her family, friends and community, she will be remembered for her willingness to help, her kindness, and the love she shared with so many.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5th, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Everett Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mike Benner officiating.

Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.

Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.

As an expression of kindness and to honor her memory, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Allegra to the Everett Church of The Brethren, 119 East Second Street, Everett, PA 15537.
